GenePool Your Genealogy

To get maximum 'bang for your buck' in the world of online genealogy you have to get your interest/experiences across to as many other genealogists as possible. There is no more truer saying for the family historian than "helping others is helping yourself" or to put it less delicately, "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours". There are no prizes in genealogy for coming first. We all amble along at our own pace and stick with it till we finish......which is never! So there is absolutely no advantage in keeping your knowledge and experiences to yourself. SHARE IT!

Now that I have your attention i'll tell you about GenePool. It's a group I've started online to help you do just that - share. You can write an article about your genealogy experiences and publish it on the net. I've started the ball rolling with some words of wisdom of my own, so take a look and you'll see what I mean.
No, you don't have to be an author. If you can pen a half decent letter you can write for GenePool.
And then what, you say? Your article gets published for all the world to see and somebody checks it out and maybe gets some valuable info for their own research.
Magic! You've helped someone and it didn't hurt a bit. Over the coming weeks/months you decide to do some browsing of your own at GenePool and surprise, surprise! You read an article about research in Ireland which mentions the village of Bunratty in County Clare. You are numb with excitement. That's the village you're researching. You may now have someone who you can contact and share information.
